Dubai: A total of 432 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kuwait in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 80,960, the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported on Monday.
According to health ministry spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al Sanad, some 618 patients with COVID-19 have fully recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total to 72,925. The ministry added that the new number was based on clinical tests, which proved that patients were now virus-free.
He said today’s cases include 150 in Ahmadi, 83 in Farwaniya, 80 in Jahra, 60 in Kuwait and 59 in Hawally.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 has claimed three more lives, bringing the total death toll in Kuwait to 518.
Out of all cases, 99 patients are in intensive care units and 7,519 people are receiving appropriate medical treatment.
The latest cases were detected after performing 3,056 swab tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of swabs since the virus outbreak to 590,623.
