Rafael Nadal withdraws from ATP Miami Open to arrange for European clay courtroom season

Nadal has not performed since being ousted from the Australian Open quarter-finals final month by Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas

Miami: Rafael Nadal withdrew from the ATP Miami Open early subsequent week on Tuesday, tweeting that he should skip the occasion to arrange for the subsequent European clay-court marketing campaign.

The 34-year-old Spain southpaw, who shares the all-time file of 20 males’s Grand Slam singles titles with Roger Federer, has not performed since being ousted from the Australian Open quarterfinals final month by Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

“It is unhappy to announce that I will not be enjoying in Miami, a metropolis that I really like,” Nadal tweeted. “I would like to totally get well and put together for the clay season in Europe.

“Particular message to my followers in the USA and specifically to the massive Spanish talking FL neighborhood who at all times give me nice help!”

Nadal is on the lookout for a fifth consecutive title on the French Open and a 14th profession crown on the pink clay at Roland Garros from Could.

Though liked by Miami followers, the Masters title in South Florida is among the many few to elude Nadal, who misplaced the ultimate there 5 instances.
