Lyon, feminine French champion, appoints Sonia Bompastor as new coach

Bompastor, 40, who received 156 caps for France, would be the first girl to teach the crew that has dominated European ladies’s soccer in recent times.

Former French ladies’s champion Lyon on Tuesday appointed former worldwide defender Sonia Bompastor as new coach after Jean-Luc Vasseur was sacked following Paris Saint-Germain’s loss within the Ligue des champions.

Bompastor, 40, who received 156 caps for France, would be the first girl to teach the crew that has dominated European ladies’s soccer in recent times.

Lyon have received the final 14 French league titles and the final 5 Champions League titles, however PSG have sidelined them from this season’s European competitors and threaten to propel them to the league title.

With 5 matches to play, PSG leads Lyon by one level.

Lyon mentioned in a press release that Bompastor had been appointed after a session course of “to search out the mandatory mechanisms to allow the crew to efficiently finish a season which has been performed below troublesome circumstances”.

The crew suffered from the long-term damage this season of Ada Hegerberg, the Norwegian who in 2018 was the primary to win the Ballon d’Or for the most effective participant on the earth.
